I grew up in Surrey, and often visited my Gran who lived near Preston. She taught me to paint using watercolour and we would practice together in her sunny front room. I like to experiment with pastels, pens, and crayons, but most of my favourite drawings always seem to end up having watercolour at their core.

My Gran was very good at flowers and I always find it calming to sit down and draw a something botanical from observation.

A few years ago my Dad wrote a book called Marigold and the Apple Tree and patiently encouraged me to have a go at the illustrations for it. The finished book was 16 years in the making (!) but it planted the seed and I went on to do a course in Children's book illustration at the Leith School of Art.

I live in Linlithgow with my three young boys and my Husband Andrew. If I'm not drawing I'm singing, playing the fiddle or writing something. I love creating with my kids and I rely on them for inspiration and encouragement.
